Adventure Class
Descriptions and Schedules

A dog that has had obedience training and is
well-mannered is a dog that is fun to
be with!!
Each
Adventure class will teach you how to apply the obedience skills your dog has
learned to real life situations, away from home, in the face of every
day distractions.
- Each Adventure will help build
your dog's confidence as your dog visits more places and learns new
behaviors.
- Your dog will learn
how to behave properly in the real world, become better
socialized and be more relaxed and comfortable with strange people,
places, sounds and new things.
- Class
Fee: $20.00 per Adventure
class
- each student
will be responsible for
his/her own additional expenses, if any (i.e. admission fees, food,
etc.)
- Class
Size: Minimum 4 dogs
- Prerequisite:
pre-approval
to attend is required.
- As
safety for dog & handler is paramount, participation in a K9
Adventure Class will need an evaluation to determine the
dog/handler suitability and readiness to participate.
- Dog should be under control, and at a minimum be able to Sit/Down/Stay/Come on cue.

obtain pre-approval for you and your dog to attend a K9 Adventure Class

Adventure Class Descriptions
Place:
Historic Spanish Point, 337 North
Tamiami Trail, Osprey, Florida
Dogs experience nature trails, butterfly
garden, jungle walk garden, small tunnel, boardwalk, dock, footbridge &
more.
Dog behaviors to practice: focus, sit-stay,
down-stay, navigating stairs, loose leash walking, leave it, walking on a
bridge over water, walking out on a dock surrounded by water and much more.
There will be other dogs present, as it will be Pups at the Point day!
Your main responsibility will be to keep your own dog safe. To

Place:
The Landings Shopping Center on corner of US 41 & Proctor Road, Sarasota,
Florida
Dogs experience vehicle traffic, people
traffic, shopping carts and many sights and sounds present in the real world.
This Adventure class will introduce many
things that are present in your dog’s real world that they need to be able
to accept.
We will work the shopping center store fronts, will probably get
stopped by curious people and may visit the pet store.
Dog behaviors to practice: focus, sit-stay,
down-stay, loose leash walking, leave it, sit for petting, walking behind a
shopping cart and more. To

Place:
Myakka River State Park, 9
miles E of I-75 at 13208 State Road 72, Sarasota, Florida
Dogs experience nature
trails, a boardwalk out on the Upper Lake, open stairs, Canopy Walkway through
the treetops over an 85’ suspension bridge, 74’ high tower and more.
This Adventure class will introduce unusual things
that might be encountered in your dog's real world should they accompany you
on a vacation or trip.
Dog behaviors to practice: focus, trust,
confidence building, navigating open stairs, loose leash walking, leave it,
walking nicely in a crowd and

Place:
Applebee’s on Clark Road, 5490 Clark Road, Sarasota, Florida
Dogs get to join us for a bite to eat, or just a beverage, at
the outdoor tables and learn the proper dog behavior at an outdoor
restaurant.
Dog behaviors to practice:
focus, settle by chair on a mat, sit-stay, down-stay, working around
traffic, stopping at all curbs and more. To
